Although I was aware of Maskon from its inception and of the Living Doll community, I did not venture down the rabbit hole myself until May 27th, 2006. The journey that followed was wonderful and by the end of the year I was unmasked, out of the closet, out on the town and living my life more sincerely. In the next year I spread my wings a little bit further, but I soon learned that being "loud and proud" had an ugly side also.

In 2007, I was impressed when my employer (a well known computer company) hosted a GLBT event on site, and a popular lesbian singer-songwriter and friend...was hired to perform. I was aware that many gay and lesbian people worked for the company, but I was surprised by the company's outward support. At the time I remember thinking, "it's probably a ploy to expose all of the gay people."

I went to the event, because I wanted to be among my friends and to support them, but those who attended from management were very surprised to see me there. Initially, they thought that I was there as a curious straight person; however, as I began greeting and hugging my friends, it became clear that I was something other than straight. In the weeks after the event (and with the thought that I was working for a sympathetic company), I began adding a few small framed photos of me in femme mode with my friends...no different in my mind then the photos of family and friends that others kept in their areas. However, a curious thing began to happen, and managers (who I had no dealings with previously) would stop by my work station to look at the photos, and then ask, "is that you?" My work load, which was previously very aggressive, began to diminish, and where I had previously broken performance records and received awards, I was now being disciplined for poor performance. By the end of 2007, I was called into a room and a short time later I was escorted out of the building. The reason for my termination was listed as poor performance, but it was clear to me that being gay, or at least gay friendly was the real reason.

It was that episode, which caused me to dive below the radar, and it wasn't until Célia Geraci invited me to join DollsPride in 2009 that I resurfaced under a new name, Tyrant Vyrus, otherwise known as T-Vyrus or simply...T.

They say that "you can't choose your family, but you can choose your friends," and the Inventer of the FemSkin and the creator and Administrator of DollsPride, soon became a good friend. Initially, I thought that Chuck was among the FanBoys on DollsPride... people that I generally try to avoid, but soon I learned to appreciate him, and he began asking me to assist with the operation of the DollsPride site.

In the first year, Chuck and I became friends, and when he was diagnosed with cancer, we began talking more about his company (FemSkin), about DollsPride and his family. FemSkin, as I soon learned, was the result of a lot of hard work - not just for Chuck, but for his entire family. His wife took care of actually running the business and keeping it profitable (since Chuck was so inclined to give a lot away), and his three sons worked in the small manufacturing facility constructing molds, pouring silicone and working with their Dad on new products.

Chuck's earlier careers included Glazier and Cabinet Maker, and the legal name that he operated under was 21st Century Cabinets. This name remained even after he invented the FemSkin, and like Kerry's, Tiresias Productions, it allowed for the discreet delivery of FemSkin products.

I still recall the buzz when the FemSkin was first introduced, and initially our community thought that it was a scam - and that a product to transform a boy's entire body into that of a girl could not be for real. It was a fantasy right out of "Silence of the Lambs," and in that regard it was kinda creepy. However, the product was (and is) for real, and there is none other like it on the market - those that are sold by others, are generally re-branded FemSkins, such as the Rubbersister's, "Moniquin." When I asked Chuck how it was that he decided to switch from cabinet making to skins; he said in his gravely, badass voice, "I was trying to make a fuckin' sex doll. My brother-in-law was a mask maker, and I told him that he could make a lot more money making tits and ass. I'd seen the Real Dolls, and I knew that people would wear something like that (without its skeleton) to transform themselves. This led to the first FemSkin."

I should say that cussing was one of Chuck's endearing qualities, and he was a crass badass with a heart of gold. Once you got to know him, you had to love him, and he would do anything for anyone. Surprisingly, Chuck was not gay or transgender, and he never wore his own product, but he did know how to take an idea and to turn it into a reality. While I am not at liberty to discuss the manufacturing processes that he used, I can say that they were the work of a true Craftsman. In the first few years of growth, Chuck continued to refine the skin, and to introduce a full line of products; including, padded girdles, hip pads, breast forms, vaginas and more. He was even making a silicone mask, the results of which have since influenced other mask makers.

Regretfully, Chuck's life was cut short, but during the roughly four years that he spearheaded FemSkin, the Cabinet Maker's genius found a genuine home among crossdressers, dolls, transsexuals and others. Chuck died on June 28th, 2011; however, where other such companies might have folded, Chuck was thankfully survived by his wife and three sons, and they were, and remain, fully invested in the success of the company.

I met with the FemSkin family in December of 2010, and again shortly after Chuck's passing. What I will tell you, is that FemSkin is in good hands, and that you will be seeing good products from them for many years to come.

Which brings me to the point of this writing.

I first began working with Chuck when I started Hot Girls Magazine, and it was through his generosity that a server was provided so that the magazine would have a home on the Internet - the same server that also hosts DollsPride and FemSkin. This professional relationship led to our eventual meeting, and a request on Chuck's part for me to assist with the FemSkin company. I declined any direct involvement because of my vanilla life, but I remain a friend to the company and to Chuck's wife and three sons.

Most recently I represented FemSkin at the Southern Comfort Conference in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, and it is likely that I will do similar events in the future. That said, I am not an employee of the company, albeit that I appreciate a unique place as a friend, and I do use FemSkin products. Although the opportunity exists to be a part of FemSkin, I feel that I have a larger role to play in the service of our DollsPride community, and to echo our expanded community thru the pages of Hot Girls Magazine. This is what I enjoy doing the most, and it leaves me free to support our community, and those who sell us their products.

In this way, I feel an affinity for Marti and Kerry of Maskon. Marti offers us her support and a home on the Internet, and Kerry gives us the products that we use. That said, Marti and I are free to support the products that we believe in, and the Dolls featured on the Female Mask Homepage are not required to wear Masks by Kerry.

Anyway, the new genius behind FemSkin is Chuck's middle son, Adam, and I believe that in time he will begin to make his presence known on DollsPride. Until he does, I'd like to share some of our communication because I think that you will appreciate him as much as you did his Dad. He truly has Chuck's creativity, craftsmanship and rough edge, and I know that as you get to know him, you will love him too.

Everything that you ever heard about from FemSkin is still in the works; however, Adam and his brothers can only accomplish so much, and time is always short. Chuck never let anything out of his sight until it was perfect, and Adam maintains the same sensibility. Needless to say, you will still see great new products, albeit only when they are ready. This is unchanged from the company's previous commitment to release the best silicone prosthetics, period.

The FemSkin Mask has been through a lot of refinement, and it was tried on by DocRobbySherry and myself in Atlanta, and we have since provided our feedback. An additional mask is on its way to another member of DollsPride, and I am working with this person to ensure additional feedback. I can say from my own use that the mask is very comfortable and much prettier than the original featured in the February 2010 issue of Hot Girls Magazine. As with other silicone masks, it does (for the most part) adopt the features of its wearer. As soon as I am able, I will provide my own pictures of this mask.

The FemSkin III body suit is still the company's flagship product, but soon it will be released in different sizes and with new options. Adam is well aware that the current suit is tall enough; however, he is in the process of designing new molds that will make it appropriate for those of us with a few extra pounds. In a recent email Adam stressed that "the new suit is still meant to conceal, and that it won't make you look sloppy; it's still holistically designed to hide the masculine while exaggerating the feminine."

Adam is also working on a FemSkin III with a split waist and purposefully excessive overlap, which will allow the height to be adjustable. The top half will be larger, but it will still incorporate the same fundamental design of the III. The bottom half will incorporate new features associated with the development of the FemSkin IV, and it will have a newly designed vagina.

A small sized FemSkin III is also being developed, and all of these variations will be released as soon as possible. Rest assured that Adam and his brothers are working tirelessly to bring these new products to you.

Adam and I have talked about the naming of these products, and I know that it can be confusing. The FemSkin III was the first to be truly seemless, and the aforementioned designs retain this feature.

What really separates the III from the IV, is the addition of "backfill;" that is, additional silicone, which offers shape. In this regard the FemSkin 'bottom' mentioned previously, will 'not' be backfilled, and you will be required to create your figure first. This point is worth talking about because as we've all seen, the FemSkin looks great on Rubbersisters, The Dot, Irene and others...Dolls who make an effort to create a great shape, and then to wear the FemSkin over it. That's really the trick of it!

Silicone masks adopt the features of your face, and silicone body suits adopt the shape of your body. Hence, if you create a great shape, you will get awesome results. Too many Dolls simply pull the skin on as is, and expect great results. I am guilty of this myself!

The intent of back filling the suit, is to incorporate the shaping into the suit for you. As this receives further development, you may hear it referred to under various names; however, the thing to pay attention to are suits that are "skins" (where you must provide the shape), and those that are "backfilled" (where you provide only yourself).

Another point worth addressing is 'strength.'

We're talking about silicone, and it was selected because it stretches to ten times of its original size - even my big ass can get into the current model of FemSkin III. FemSkins are designed to be worn by many body types and sizes...a "one size fits all" approach. Regretfully, anything that might reinforce the suit, such as four way stretch fabric, would limit the expansion of the suit. Hence, if these materials were incorporated into the suit, then they would become very customized, cost more and sell for more. I mention this because a lot of you have worn out your suits prematurely.

If you have money to burn, then the FemSkin might easily be a 'one' use novelty item that you and a partner play with, and it may even fulfill an interesting transformation fantasy...perhaps one where a partner is literally ripped out of the skin during an exciting sexual romp. However, for most of us the FemSkin represents a substantial investment in our transformation process, and one that we would like to maintain for years to come. To do this takes great care, and an appreciation that the skin is not a toy. If you do not follow the manufacturer's care recommendations, then you can easily damage it on the first use.

It's not a lycra Zentai, or a latex catsuit with zippers...it's soft, it looks like skin, it covers your imperfections and shaping items...and it's made from silicone. Treat it accordingly, and you will get many uses out of it. My advice is to put money aside the day that you buy one...a little bit each month. Then when it does wear out, you'll already have money put aside to replace it with a new one, or a new design.

From my own experience I would offer that I only wear mine when I have time to exercise patience, I always put it on slow and carefully, I don't play in it...just take pictures - lol - and I take it off even more carefully and in the shower. So far so good!

As Adam mentioned to me, "It doesn't mean that there isn't a way to make a strong suit, but the the 'strength' will always compromise the 'stretch.' I can make a suit that you can't rip or even puncture, but it would never be a one size fits all and it would have to be custom made - making it very costly. We've been experimenting with different materials to go under the suit...a kind of meet you in the middle ploy, and when we come up with something that is sound (and still versatile), then we will incorporate it into every mold."

Adam also offered this rather poignant observation, and one that indicates his commitment to what his Dad started. "My father was clear that he felt that the look of latex was too fake, and foam latex too cellular. Everything that we make is meant to look convincing." Adam also appreciates that silicone should not be a limiting factor, and he went on to say that, "It seems to me that some products...pouch, pads, etc. could be made out of lighter (less sweaty) materials, and we shouldn't limit ourselves on principle. I struggle to make changes that I don't think my Father would approve of; however, he would approve of better and more versatile products."

Well, there it is. Perhaps more than you needed, but so many of you keep asking 'me' about FemSkin products, so I wanted to offer what I know, and to give you an appreciation of my relationship with the company.

I have a genuine appreciation for FemSkin, its products and the hard working people behind its success. As I know more I will share it, but until then I think you would be very happy with their current offerings.
